I think I realized Dan was dead meat when Widmore said "He was my son too" :( I don't read spoilers but I saw people on ONTD alluding to Dan dying so I was prepared, but..ugh. UGH.

I think Dan was reaching with his variable theory though. The ending proved you can't change the past. Whatever happened, happened. But if the Losties somehow manage to break the loop, the past won't have to happen again? Kinda like "this has all happened before, but doesn't have to happen again"? But then again, if they manage to break the loop, then 815 doesn't crash on the island..making it impossible for the Losties to be on the Island in 1977. WAT.

I don't know, this is like the first time I have been genuinely confused with Lost. I mean, I've had "wut" moments before, but up until now I had no problems keeping up with the time travel stuff. I should probably re-watch it..

Lol I can't wait for next week. I haven't seen the preview but I am guessing it entails Jack running through the jungle half-assed without having any clue as to what he's doing, which I love. However I am NOT looking forward to the inevitable Jack/Locke/Free will/Fate showdown. I can just SEE them going all "it's our DESTINY Jack, you just have to BELIEVE~~~ in it" and "DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO JOHN" D:
